Juliana Paiva foi surpreendida com uma notícia triste, nesta segunda-feira, enquanto estava nos Estúdios Globo, em Jacarepaguá, na Zona Oeste do Rio. De acordo com o blog do Leo Dias, o pai da atriz sofreu um infarto dentro de casa e morreu. Gilmar dos Santos tinha 64 anos e era casado com a mãe de Juliana, Maria Cristina Paiva, de 61 anos. As informações são do O Dia.

Ainda de acordo com o colunista, os vizinhos do condomínio, na Barra da Tijuca, tentaram socorrer o pai da atriz, mas não conseguiram reanimá-lo. Uma ambulância também foi chamada até o local.

Juliana é filha única e a última postagem que fez com Gilmar foi no dia dos pais. Ela o homenageou com a música "You've Got a Friend", interpretada por James Taylor e finalizou com "obrigada por tanto, meu melhor amigo! EU TE AMO".
